Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information FlatbedLTL — a brand of Comet National Shipping Company (“we,” “us”) — collects through flatbedltl.com, why we collect it, and who it is shared with. It covers this website only. It does not cover information you give us over the phone, by email, or in the course of a freight contract.

Information you give us

The quote and contact forms on this site ask for the following. Fields marked required are the minimum we need to price and schedule a load:

• Name (required)
• Email address (required)
• Phone number (required)
• Shipment details (required) — what you are shipping, dimensions, weight, timing
• Company name (optional)
• Origin and destination (optional)

We use this information for one purpose: to respond to your request, quote your freight, and arrange the shipment. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Form submissions are delivered to our sales team as email through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon Web Services). This website does not store your submission in a database of its own — the record lives in our email system and, if you become a customer, in our internal shipment records, for as long as we need it for the shipment and for our normal business, tax, and legal retention.

Information collected automatically

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the site — which pages get read, which guides are useful, and where visitors come from. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address), device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring site. It also records when you submit a quote request, tap a phone number, or click an email link, so we can see which pages actually help shippers reach us. We look at this in aggregate; we do not use it to identify you personally.

You can opt out across all sites with Google’s browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. The site works fully with analytics blocked.

Spam protection

Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a bot. To do that, Cloudflare receives a verification token and your IP address. It is used for that check only.

Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, request time, page requested, user agent) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.

Embedded maps

Our contact page embeds a Google Map showing our location. Loading that page loads content from Google, which may set its own cookies and receive your IP address under Google’s privacy policy.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of its own. The cookies present come from the services above — Google Analytics, Cloudflare Turnstile, and the embedded Google Map. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time without losing access to any part of the site.

Who we share information with

We share information only where it is needed to do the job you asked us to do, or where the law requires it:

• Carriers and logistics partners — shipment details necessary to pick up, haul, and deliver your freight.
• Service providers — the hosting, email-delivery, analytics, and spam-protection vendors named above, acting on our behalf.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.

We do not sell personal information.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to records we are required to keep (freight and transportation records carry their own retention obligations). Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national privacy law. We honor those requests through the same contact details.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information you send us.

Children

This is a business-to-business freight site. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the effective date above.
